Emberheart – A Worker Placement Game of Heroes, Dragons, and Poachers
The mystical island of Emberheart is home to the last living dragons, once in harmony with the villagers—until poachers from the Distant Lands arrived. As one of the King’s Champions, your mission is clear: rescue and protect the dragons, recruit brave heroes, and rally the villagers to stand against the invaders. Only the Champion who proves their worth will inherit the title of Dragon Ambassador.
Emberheart is a fast-playing, medium-weight worker placement board game for 2–4 players. Each turn, you must decide whether to claim an Aide token for a unique bonus or send a party of hirelings to one of the island’s contested locations. The size and composition of your party (Grunts, Scouts, Rangers, Wardens, or even your trained Dragon Companion) determine both the timing and strength of your actions.
Explore Emberheart’s locations to recruit Heroes with special abilities, rescue Dragons from poachers, expand Dragon Preserves, train your Dragon Companion, and launch counterattacks. But beware: the poachers will retaliate, and advancing too far on the Flame track could cost you dearly in the endgame.
Victory is measured in Glory, earned through rescuing dragons, recruiting heroes, training your dragon, and keeping your Flame low. After five rounds, the Champion with the most Glory becomes the Dragon Ambassador and saviour of Emberheart.
